At Andaman7, we aim to make it as easy as possible for you to collect your health data from various sources, including hospitals, labs, payers, and regional or national health networks. Gather your health data from many sources in a unified health record, always in your pocket, following the instructions below.
1. Check if your care facility is already compatible
Refer to this FAQ article to learn how to check if your hospital, lab, or other care facility is compatible with Andaman7: What hospitals and care facilities are compatible with Andaman7?
If your care facility is not yet compatible
- Refer to this article : How to help make my hospital or care facility become compatible with Andaman7?
- Also, if your care facility offers a patient portal* but is not yet integrated with Andaman7, contact our support team and let us know. We are working on innovative ways to import data from any patient portal!
If your care facility is compatible
Good news! You'll be able to import data into your Andaman7 PHR (Personal Health Record). Keep reading to learn how.
2. Ensure you have access to your patient portal
If your care provider uses a patient portal*, you should have configured your access rights to the portal beforehand (i.e. ensure you have the necessary credentials to access the portal, such as login and password or other authentication keys). Indeed, to import your data into Andaman7, you will have to authenticate yourself during the process in order to grant access for the data import into your PHR.
If you are unsure how to access your portal, check directly with your hospital or the portal provider, as each facility may have a different procedure. Due to the vast number of healthcare providers we support, we cannot detail every access method within this article.
3. Import your data in your Andaman7 PHR (Personal Health Record)
In the services' screen, under the "Import data from my hospitals,..." service, click on your care facility and follow the instructions.
You can also watch this tutorial video to help you. Note that the first 27 seconds of the video cover the common process that applies to most users. After that, the connection process may vary based on your specific care facility. Simply follow the in-app instructions to complete the process. This video in particular shows the process applicable to many US hospitals.
Once the data starts flowing into your app (it can take up to 15 minutes after the connection), you will be able to see it in the "Records" tab of your Andaman7 app. Don't forget to check your sync to make sure the import is complete : How and why to synchronize my app?
The first time you import data from a new care facility, it appears into a separate record at the top of the list, which allows you to check the data before validating its addition to your app. If the data looks correct, you can either:
- Save the record as a new health record, or
- Merge it with an existing one. If the data you imported is about yourself, merge it with your main record.
Note: we don't automatically merge the records because you could have imported data of another person, see Is it possible to get the health record of another person (my child, an elderly parent,...) in my app?
As always, if you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance and/or feedback!
* A patient portal is a secure online platform that allows patients to view their health information. It is usually provided by hospitals, clinics, or healthcare networks and can be accessed via a website or mobile app. To use a patient portal, you usually need login credentials (such as a username and password) provided by your hospital or clinic.
